Co-parenting counseling is therapeutic help for parents to raise kids cohesively in spite of mutual differences or separate homes. Counseling provides tools and guidance to communicate amicably with each other and effectively regulate emotions for the best interest of the children. Co-parenting plans are solution-focused and collaborative as opposed to parallel parenting, in which households have separate sets of rules and minimum communication (often necessary for high-conflict situations).
This training will provide an understanding of the issues unique to children of estranged parents, along with tools and treatment options to help address issues either collaboratively or separately according to the circumstances of the family.
- Differences in co-parenting and parallel parenting
- Create a co-parenting plan outline to utilize in sessions
