KELSI GERWELL, M.S., PHD
I am a clinical psychologist in private practice where I work collaboratively with clients in order to achieve their goals and live more fulfilling lives. I value compassion, professionalism and integrity and run a practice with these values in mind. I have previously worked in research institutions, inpatient and outpatient programs, and a university counseling center.
I completed my Bachelor's degree in psychology and Master's in psychological sciences from the University of Texas at Dallas. I then went on to complete a Master’s degree and Doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Hofstra University.
I am certified is Prolonged Exposure Therapy and Cognitive Processing therapy for PTSD. I also have experience with CBT, DBT, ACT, CBT for Chronic Pain and CBT for Insomnia and Nightmares. I have extensive experience working with clients with PTSD, insomnia and nightmares, anxiety, depression and chronic pain.
My goal is to help individuals make healthy adjustments in order to improve functioning and wellbeing. I do this by teaching skills that will help individuals interact in a more helpful way with their environment and respond more appropriately to challenges. In doing so, I also help individuals maintain healthier habits in the long term.
