I am experienced in helping children and adolescents learn to confidently and effectively regulate emotions, enhance interpersonal skills, and heal from stressful situations. I incorporate parenting guidance, school consultation, and collaboration with other professionals for comprehensive care. I draw from evidence-based practices such as CBT, EMDR, mindfulness, play therapy, and art therapy.

Prior to joining Alamo Counseling, I was an Instructional Aide at Wellspring Educational Services where I helped children to meet their personal goals through reinforcing coping skills and assisting with social-emotional needs. I then trained at East County Adult Mental Health and primarily worked with adults in individual therapy that were diagnosed with a severe and persistent mental illness. I am also currently providing clinical services at a local non-profit agency for adolesc and families who are recovering from trauma. 

 

As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist working towards state licensure, I have a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from University of San Francisco, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. My undergraduate studies were also in behavioral health, and I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, Monterey Bay. I am bilingual in Spanish and English, and hold CPR and First Aid certifications.
